Being a Civil Engineer, I can earn quite a significant amount of money through working a 40+ hour a week job. I’m certainly not a greedy person, but sometimes it feels as though the money I earn doesn’t quite cut it, and as such I am always on the lookout for ways to earn additional income.
I have been presented two opportunities for earning income outside of engineering, and both of them seem quite lucrative. Most people understand the essence of working for a week, and getting paid for that week, however these business opportunities, are somewhat different. They are more entrepreneurial, and not everyone has a sudden influx of cash. There are ways to earn money instantly through the business I am a part of, but the real income is earned over time.
At the moment I spend upto 5 hours a week working in this business, this is on top of my 9-to-5 job as an engineer, and these 5 hours are spent introducing this business opportunity to people, as well as offering them products if they aren’t interested in the business, I also attend a variety of functions to help people understand this business as well.
This business opportunity doesn’t offer a ‘get rich quick’ scheme, I find that many of those scheme can’t deliver income anywhere near the money they claim you can earn. This business will start of slowly, and over time, as people are recruited to your team, you will see your supplementary income growing.
My main objective at the moment is to build a solid foundation on which my business will grow, as well as giving people the opportunity to earn an income for themselves through this business opportunity.

This is quite a revolutionnary concept, and most of all, there is no recruiting and no investing.
You mention in your comment about no recruiting, however upon visiting the website, and reading through it, I need to send 10 unique visitors to the site every month, in my opinion that sounds like recruiting to me.
I also would rather a continuous income, month after month, rather than a once off cash bonus.

When people hear “recruiting”, they usually think about “finding someone who will buy something” or “finding someone who will suscribe for a plan than will have to recruit also as I did”. In other word, recruiting is usually linked to MLM, Affiliate program, etc.
This is absolutely not our cases… You are right that sending 10 peoples a month on the site (with is, admitedly, really easy to acheive) may seems like recruiting, but in this case we would need another word, that I can’t find.
You are looking for continuous money, but this program will take in average of 40 sec daily of your time, so it is a complement for any other program you may participate.
So it is more of a complementary program rather than a replacement for the Amway business that I have signed up for?

This program is taking subscription only until June 30, 2010. After that time, it will close, and won’t be reconducted, because it is only a viral marketing operation to promote the future online shop.
If you understand well the concept, the monthly net profit of the company will be divided by the total IDZ distributed. If there is to much IDZ, they won’t be able to take value. That’s why it is necessary to limit the number of suscribers.
In another subject, if I can give you an advice, in your search to find a residual income, do not look for around affiliate program or MLM. You will assurely loose your time, and your money.
Amway is a MLM. You need to work extremely hard to make an income with this. Only 2% of people succeed with MLM, That means 98% loose their time.. And today, it is much harder than ever, because almost everybody in the word have been harassed one day or another about someone trying to sell him a MLM subscription.
MLM exist for 60 years now. The market is saturated. Their time is over. Place for innovation.
Don’t touch, even with a 50 feet perch, all “investment” program, including forex. They all are like casino. You will always loose in short or long term, even with the better technique.

It is extremely easy to make an income for selling products in Internet. First, you need to find interesting produc to sell (not E-book and other useless things). Find a good reseller, or a dropshipping website, build a website with Paypal payment button (anybody can realise this), work hard for SEO techniques, and you will be very surprise of the result.
In all case, perseverance is the key for sucess ! In any project, consider to work AT LEAST 6 months, 2-3 hours a day, and I assure you success.
I have actually had a return on my investment through Amway, than I have with any method you have talked about so far.
I have tried building a website, and using Adsense, I have had my adsense account for 5 years now, and I still have not seen a single dollar from Google yet, I have built quality websites, I have tried finding a niche that is unique, and I enjoy, and have had no success. I have tried selling products, products unique and different, and from what you have told me, products from Amway are unique, and high quality.
I totally understand perseverance is the key to success, but the methods you have suggested I try, I have worked on them for over 6 months had still had no success, I can only try so hard before trying something new, and that new thing I am trying is Amway, and so far I have had success.
I guess that the way to work change everything. Maybe you did not know how to promote a website, but you find a good way to sell Amway products. Others find the opposite.
I suppose everybody need to find its own niche. And it is a good thing, so there is people working in every aspect of the economy. Hope you find yours
I, too, have been searching for a way to make extra money online. I’ve tried the MLM route but came up disappointed. I probably should have put more time into, like anything else one tries. I’ve also tried the adsense route. I had a little success, but not much to make a dent. I know it can be done, but haven’t found the right ingredients yet.
@mafb, Which MLM did you try? I’ve seen a few out there, and they all promise everything under the sun, but the products which they offered seemed to be limited in their scope to be truly useful for anyone that I know. So far the products of Amway are all high quality products, that people can use on an everyday basis.
To earn money did not show that the person is greedy…i really like a lot that you r doing extra work to earn more money instead of your job…it shows that you r a hardworking person…and your blog encourages me to earn money…by doing hardwork.
@Chris: I wouldn’t necessarily say that I am a hard working person, but I would say more of a smart working person. Looking to develop an income that comes to me without me having to be at work would be amazing, and that is something that I am working towards.
Currently I am part of the 95% of the population earning 5% of the income, I would rather be one of the 5% earning 95% of the income out there. I just want my part of it.
